To one of the Greatest Men I have known

My mother in law lost her husband, My wife lost her dad and my kids lost their Pa, and I lost my friend 2 weeks ago tomorrow.  It has been sometime since a post was done on this blog and this man is more than worthy to have a post in his honor.  I have been blessed to call Pa my father in law, I have watched this man demonstrate not only with words, but with actions, love for his family, his kids, and especially his grandbabies.

My father in law lived 1st Corinthians 13 everyday!!

1st Corinthians 13 says, "If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I will miss hearing his voice when I walked in his door, I will miss hearing him laugh listening to all my "great" ideas, I will miss sharing a beer with him watching a ball game, I will miss sitting by the pool or beach with him, I will miss watching him love my wife with everything he had, I will miss seeing them together soaking up every minute, so as to not waste anything.  I will miss seeing him with my children, teaching them, watching them, loving them. Pa I love you, you treated me like a son from day one.  You opened your home and heart to me with no strings attached.  Thank you for your example, thank you for the Legacy you left behind, thank you for giving me your daughter (on loan of course) thank you for giving her passion (a little scary sometimes) thank you for teaching her hard work, thank you for teaching her the value of a dollar, thank you for everything you did for me, unconditionally.  Thank you for what you gave up to follow me, thank you for being there when I failed.  Most of all thank you for just being you.

I am certain the angels today are celebrating, you are hanging out with your parents and grandparents and my grandpa and little sister are telling you how great everything is.  Please take care of them and I will see you again on the other side!!

My SIlly Girls

With Parker being in school now, I sure get a lot of good girl time in. I love playing with these sweet girls all day! They are really into dressing up and playing school and tea party with their babies.
