Mommy & Me Gymnastics

Last week Presley and I started a mommy and me gymnastics glass...yes she is only 17 months, but its something fun for us to do together while Parker is at school. She actually did really good...she loved doing forward rolls and walking on the balance beam. She has been doing rolls every since! I am so proud of my big girl!

Parker's First Soccer Game

Saturday was Parker's first meeting with his soccer team. It was actually more just fundamentals than an actual game so the kids can learn the correct techniques for soccer. They were so cute in their little uniforms and all listened very well. Parker thought it was a lot of fun...we can't wait to see what all he learns. Thanks Pa, Nana, & Dallas for coming to watch!

Happy 21st Mal Jo!!

We wish our precious Malorie a very happy big 21!!! We had a great time celebrating at Power House with her. I think her and grandma both enjoyed their "first" kilowatt! We love you so much Mal Jo!!!

Presley Starts Mothers Day Out!!

Yesterday should have been a very happy for me to have 5 hours with no children since Presley started mother's day out, but I cried harder than she did when I had to leave her! I am going to blame on it on pregnant hormones! We started our morning off with Miss Presley playing in a dirty diaper and having to be re bathed and dressed right before we had to leave. Once we got there the second we walked in she started crying and saying no-no-no mama! It was so sad, but they assured me they would call if she didn't settle down after about 15-20 mins. Yes...I hung out outside the school and at Dean's office which is 1 minute away just in case, but never got a call so I knew she was doing fine. We both survived and I'm sure she will love it after she gets used to it. When I went to pick to her up her teacher said she had a pretty good day and that she took a good nap. She didn't know Presley had a brother going to the same school and was telling me when they were on the playground that Presley really took to this older little boy and he was so sweet to her when she was upset and she didn't want to leave him. I asked if his name was Parker and she said yes and I told her that was her big brother. It was funny and made me feel good that big brother is there watching out for our baby. Her teacher also said she did not eat anything all day. I took her to Sonic and she was so happy to have her cup of ice (she thinks this is the greatest treat.)We also had to stop by the store on our way home and she saw her favorite thing in the world when we passed the isle of Cheetos and started yelling "nummy, nummy, nummy..mommy". Cheetos make everything better!
We are so proud of our baby girl and love you you so much Lou!!!

Grandma & Grandpa McGehee

Last night we went to visit Margie and Chester, Dean's great grandparents while they were in town from Kentucky. They have only seen Parker twice and had never met Presley so it was neat for them to get to see them. We had a great visit and hope to see them again soon.

County Fair

We took the kids to the fair with Nana and Mike, Jami, Dallas, & Anastyn. The boys really had a great time seeing all the animals and riding the rides.

Parker's 1st day of Preschool

Today our baby boy started preschool!!! I can't believe he is about to turn 4 and is going to preschool...it seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. He did so good..on the way there he said "I just want to stay with you mama" and then asked what I was going to do while he was school and I told him I was going to some stores with girl stuff. He sat there in his little car seat for a minute and said, " you're right mommy, I will go to school today." He thought the alternative didn't sound so fun! He went right in and he saw me tearing up and told me it would be ok, he would have fun. He has become such a little man these days... he just melts my heart! I am going to try to post this letter his daddy wrote him and had me read him before we left for school this morning. No wonder I was an emotional mess!! We love you little man!

Parker,
Today is going to be a great day for you. I cannot believe that you are going to your first day of school today. What a little man you have become. I feel as though your mom and I just brought you home. Duke, I wish there were words to tell you how much I love you and how proud of you I am. I thank God that I have been chosen by God to be your daddy. God truly knew how much I needed you in my life. You have made me and continue to make me a very proud daddy. I hope that every day you know that there is nothing in this world that your mom and I would not do for you. Thank you young man for showing me about life, for teaching me that to take life to seriously would be a tragic mistake. Thank you for making me smile the way only you can, thank you for making me laugh from the pit of my stomach and thank you for the few minutes a day that you make me feel like the most important man on the planet. When I walk in the door and see your face, the day I left on the other side of the door does not seem to matter near as much. Thank you for loving your mommy the way you do, thank you for being such a great big brother to Presley. To say I am PROUD is not nearly the right word. As I lay my head down at night whether next to you or not I say a simple prayer, “God please watch over my boy, keep him safe, and always let him know how much I love him. God please let him grow up to be so much more then even he believes and let him become more than anything a man after your own heart.” Parker I am touched each day that you want to be just like me, that gives me the greatest feeling in the world, I love that you want to dress like me, talk like me and basically be me. I hope you know that I am not perfect even though in your eyes I may be, please always know that despite all my mistakes you my son are one of my greatest accomplishments. I pray this prayer for you today,” God, watch over my little man, be with him today on his first day of school, may he find joy and pleasure, may his mind be open to learn. God help him to listen and be kind, share and make friends, but most of all God; let him be a kid for just a little while longer, because I am not quite ready for this.” Amen
I love you Parker more than words can ever say and today is going to be a great day.
